THE EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL
In 2022, Black Hound Productions took on our most exciting and ambitious project to date…The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
In August of 2022, Black Hound headed to the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival with two pieces of original theatre.
Alright? restaged under the direction of Cordelia Tarbrooke and starring Tom Price is a one man show exploring teenage men’s mental health, which gained fantastic reviews from audiences in 2020, before lockdown cancelled the subsequent tour. The show enjoyed a small tour covering venues in the South West as well as London before heading to the Fringe.
Seeds of Memories was a brand new piece exploring the power of grief and the magic of memories through lyrical writing and puppetry. This piece was developed with the Fringe in mind and has since toured the South West in the Spring of 2023.
Both shows enjoyed a weeks run at the SpaceUK venue at the Radisson Blu Hotel on the Royal Mile in central Edinburgh. A wide range of audiences were able to enjoy the shows and Seeds of Memories even picked up two brilliant 5 Star Reviews.
ALRIGHT?
Alright? is an authentic exploration of teenage mental health, retelling the universal experience of exam stress, visits to see gran, school cricket teams and finding ways of coping. The original production was directed by Benjamin Hardy-Phillips and has now been adapted for 2022 by Cordelia Tarbrooke. This original play is an honest and quick-witted insight into living with Mental Health challenges. Withey’s quick wit, brought to life by Tom Price, promises to give you a tender, intimate theatrical experience, bringing audiences comfort, understanding and laughs.
★★★★ 'A delightfully engaging and endearing performance' - Broadway Baby
SEEDS OF MEMORIES
Seeds of Memories is Black Hound Productions' most recent piece of original theatre. Recently it has felt like grief is all around us. This piece, from the 'affecting and lyrical voice' of Patrick Withey and packed to the brim with puppetry and poetry, is a wistful and uplifting exploration of the magic of memories and the feeling of loss. Share and explore the beautiful memories we all grow throughout our lives. After losing his beloved Grampy in 2020, Patrick has been developing Seeds of Memories inspired by a poem he wrote about his Grandfather when he was 14. The piece is a modern-day folk story exploring the magic of Memories and the power of Nature, through artful puppetry and lyrical storytelling.
★★★★★ 'Bursting with supernatural awe ... Nothing short of brilliant' - Edfringe Review
